Peg spent many years in private practice, small animal GP and mixed animal, as well as several years in animal shelter management. She also worked for IDEXX Labs in worldwide technical support and owned/managed a pet services/farm feed supply store, providing nutritional consulting for over 20 years. Peg started teaching at UNH while running her business. She taught in pet grooming and animal science at the University of New Hampshire and then went to York County Community College where she built and directed a Veterinary Technology program and then an Animal Care & Management program. After nearly ten years, she left to join Rarebreed but continues to teach in the Veterinary Technology program at the University of Maine Augusta. Peg also has written a Veterinary Technician National Exam Prep product for Cengage Learning and several peer-reviewed articles on educational issues in veterinary technology.
She is currently the Past President of the Maine Veterinary Technicians Association, sits on the Board of Directors for the MSSPA, on the Advisory Committee for Tufts at Tech at Worcester Technical High School, and on the Advisory Committee for the Penn Foster animal programs. She also serves on a NAVTA ByLaws Review work committee and a veterinary shortage assessment workgroup for the Maine VMA.
